POMPEY STAR CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

LEE BRADBURY has been released on bail by Isle of Wight magistrates after being charged with counts of common assault and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

The Cowes-born Portsmouth striker is alleged to have been involved in a brawl with security at the Chicago Rock Cafe in Newport.

Onlookers said that Bradbury was in "high-spirits" whilst in the bar, but that he became violent after being escorted away from the establishment by doormen.

Hampshire police confirmed that the former England Under-21 star had been charged with the offences and that he has been bailed to appear before Newport magistrates on Thursday.
