BACK TO BLACK

LINCOLN CITY manager Alan Buckley has made his first major signing since moving to Sincil Bank, clinching a deal that will see Kingsley Black move across Lincolnshire from Grimsby.

The 32-year-old midfielder had previously spent a one-month loan period with The Imps under Phil Stant's managerial regime, but ex-Grimsby boss Buckley has now persuaded the former Northern Ireland international to make the move permanent.

"This is the first major signing in Alan Buckley's reign and it proves that the club mean business with Kingsley being such a quality player," said City chief executive Jerry Lonsdale.

Black had found himself very much on the fringe of Lennie Lawrence's plans at Blundell Park, making just four league appearances since his appointment as manager in August.

The experienced left-sided playmaker also suffered a car crash during December and spent a long spell on the sidelines after straining his groin during his previous spell with City.
