MILLER BRANN MOVE UNLIKELY

More from Football

HARTLEPOOL UNITED boss Chris Turner says it is unlikely ace midfielder Tommy Miller will join Brann Bergen in a loan switch to play in their Champions League campaign.

FA rules state a player can only join a team outside of Britain for a minimum of three months, meaning Miller would miss the start of the new Division Three season as he would be in Norway until October at the earliest.

The Hartlepool boss is willing to let Miller join the Norwegian outfit, but only on the condition he is back playing for Hartlepool when the new Division Three campaign kicks off on August 11.

"Brann have expressed an interest in Tommy but they do not have the money to buy him," Turner said.

"There is a chance he could go on loan for their Champions League campaign but it would only happen if we get him back for the start of the season and we do not think that is viable.

"Tommy is on holiday at the moment so we will sit down with him when he comes back and see how the land lies.

"To be honest I do not see Tommy going but we will just have to see what happens."

Hartlepool officials are in negotiations with the FA to see if Miller can be allowed to play for Brann in the close season before returning to Pool in August.
