NEWCASTLE SIGNING £6M BELLAMY
The Welsh international held talks with The Magpies when leaving Norwich City, but he ended up at Highfield Road, where he was unable to prevent The Sky Blues sliding out of The Premiership.
After only 39 appearances, his City career is over and Robson will be hoping the 21-year-old can recapture the exhilirating form he showed when he burst onto the scene at Carrow Road.
The deal will end Robson's interest in Atletico Madrid's Juninho, with the Brazilian set to remain with Vasco da Gama, as Bellamy is a similar style of player to the Samba star.
Only a medical stands between the Welshman and his switch to Tyneside, as he has already agreed personal terms on a five-year contract with Robson's men.
Bellamy becomes Robson's first signing of the summer, but more new faces are expected to arrive at St James' Park.
