INZAGHI COMPLETES MILAN SWITCH

MILAN have completed the signing of Filippo Inzaghi from Juventus in a deal that sees former Atalanta star and recent signing Cristian Zenoni move in the opposite direction.

Inzaghi admitted that he was unsettled at Juventus after finding his grasp on the centre-forward role increasingly threatened by brilliant Frenchman David Trezeguet.

Milan were quick to state that they would love to sign the Italian after he publicly said that he would love to play in a Rossoneri shirt.

However the deal appeared to have been put on hold when new coach Fatih Terim said that he did not see Inzaghi as a key part of his plans when he arrived at the club.

The news that Zenoni - who along with brother Damiano - was one of the most impressive youngsters in the top flight, will move as part of the deal will come as something of a shock , although it was assumed that money was the biggest stumbling block and this appears to have solved the problem.

Zenoni, in fact, made his debut for the national side this season against the England, will be a major part of the deal - with the amount spent on prolific Inzaghi likely to be reduced by some margin.

Inzaghi has agreed a five-year-deal with Milan and his arrival will almost signal the end of Oliver Bierhoff's career at the club.

Although no official fee has been disclosed, the 27-year-old is expected to have cost around £17 million.
