SUTTON REVEALS REVENGE MISSION

CELTIC striker Chris Sutton has revealed that Martin O'Neill's side were out for revenge during Ryan Giggs's fiery testimonial game at Old Trafford.

The Scottish Champions won the unofficial Battle of Britain 4-3 at Old Trafford last Wednesday, and were determined to avenge last year's defeat in Tommy Boyd's benefit game.

The former Blackburn and Chelsea star says that Sir Alex Ferguson's side employed the same heavy-handed tactics at Parkhead, and last Wednesday night was time to even the scores.

"We were up for the game because of the way they played last time. We went out that night at Parkhead to play it as a friendly but they were putting the foot in all over the shop," said Sutton.

"That annoyed us and we decided at Old Trafford we would be putting it about.

"A lot of guys were playing for pride and we got it back. To go there and win 4-3 shows we can handle ourselves."

Sutton slapped David Beckham during the game, and the England captain is also said to have been the subject of abuse from fans and players during the match.
