MYHRE REVEALS EVERTON NIGHTMARE
The Norwegian international has fallen well down the pecking order at Goodison Park and says: "Everton have three keepers in their squad, but I guess I am fifth choice."
Myhre has barely figured for Walter Smith's side for the last two seasons and has been sent on several loan deals, but the club refuse to allow that now and say he can only leave on a permanent move.
"Everton will not let me go on loan. It is either a full transfer or nothing this season," he added in an interview with Nettavisen.
The former Moss and Viking keeper has played in pre-season games against Tranmere and Hereford, but says he is well away from a starting place after having to train with the Everton youth team.
"No, I won't be playing for the first team. I guess I am fifth choice. Gerrard and Simonsen are the two first, and then there is a 16-year-old ahead of me in the pecking order, even though I haven't seen him in a year.
"If those three got injured, I don't think I would be picked anyway."
Myhre turned down a move to Tottenham because he does not want to spend more time on the bench and will not move to any club.
"I can't say which clubs have been in touch, but I won't go to any club. To say it in another way, I won't sign for Torshavn in the Faroe Islands", says Myhre.
Myhre is prepared to see out his contract with Everton, and join a new club on a free transfer next season.
"That might happen, but something might just as well happen tomorrow but I don't see anything sudden happening at the moment," says Myhre.
