MADRID MISS ANELKA PAYMENT
The Spanish champions are supposed to pay £4 million in annual installments following his £22 million transfer from North London to the Spanish capital.
The controversial Frenchman has since swapped Madrid for Paris Saint Germain but The Gunners annual report revealed that last season's payment was missed.
The reports, revealed in the Telegraph, said that if the payment was not received then the Spaniards would have to pay double.
"Real Madrid FC have not paid in accordance with the terms and if they continue not to confirm this will cause £8 million of debt to be recovered in more than one year," said the report.
A lot has been made of Real's financial situation as they continue to spend huge sums of money on players despite mounting debts being reported.
They have splashed out £37 million for Luis Figo and £45 million for Zinedine Zidane in consecutive seasons despite the trouble which resulted in them selling their training ground in the centre of Madrid.
The move by Arsenal to release the details of the transfer shows how concerned they are about the situation.
The Gunners also revealed that the have paid £32.3 million for land at Ashburton Grove to be used as the site for their new stadium development.
