HOLLOWAY DELIGHTED WITH MBOMBO

QUEENS PARK RANGERS boss Ian Holloway has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of recent signing Aziana Ebele Mbombo in the 2-1 Worthington Cup defeat by Northampton.

The 20-year-old striker, nicknamed `Doudou`, recently signed for the Loftus Road club and made his full debut against The Cobblers.

"Doudou looked electric," beamed Holloway. "He did some very good things and I was very pleased with him.  He's earned the right to be on the bench and around the first-team."

The player also seemed happy, commenting: "Overall I was pleased with my performance but very disappointed with the result."

The former Monaco youngster continued: "It was good, different from Monaco and France.

"In Monaco there were only two or three supporters cheering you on. In France there are only three teams that get strong support where the fans follow the team and make noise - Lens, Marseille and Paris.

"In Monaco the atmosphere wasn't as good. That's why many of the big French players move to England."
