PFA PONDER NEW OFFER - GIGGS SUPPORT
The row centres around TV money with the PFA demanding a five percent cut of Premiership and Football League television deals, worth circa £26 million per annum.
Premier League spokesman Phillip French told BBC Five Live that the new offer was 'generous' but the exact figure has yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile. Manchester United ace Ryan Giggs has pleged his support to the PFA cause and believes the football union is entitled to ask for more TV money.
"The PFA is right to fight its corner on this one because the principle of looking after people who have contributed to the game is admirable," Giggs told his personal website.
"Equally, we are paid by the club and have a loyalty to our employers.
"Gary Neville is our PFA representative and, after a meeting on Sunday, he filled in the rest of the lads on what is going on.
"Every footballer has friends who have suffered through injury, not made it as a professional and gone on to coaching or physio work. The PFA provides a priceless safety net for these people."
"The PFA has an obligation to make sure it has enough funds to finance it all. It's an important issue. I don't think we're at a point yet where I have to make a decision about whether I would strike. I hope things don't get that far - but I know where my sympathies lie," added The Red Devils star.
