Royals loan-star returns to Fulham

More from Football

READING boss Alan Pardew is turning his attention towards signing another goalkeeper on loan after Marcus Hahnemann returned to Fulham on Monday.

The American shot-stopper has been in impressive form for The Royals keeping four successive clean sheets, but while he could extend his stay at the Madejski Stadium, a return is unlikely.

"The door's not locked, but it's shut," Royals first team coach Kevin Dillon said.

"It's a policy of Fulham's, they let him come to us for a month and then they wanted to sort out a deal. We're not in a position to do that.

"He just got better and better. He's really helped Jamie Ashdown as well. Marcus' distribution was the best I've seen, it was a big plus having him here - his kicking and throwing were superb.

"We'll have to bring someone in, the manager is out looking for someone now, and we'll have to see who we can get."
