Euell wary of axe

JASON EUELL has admitted that he fears for his place in the Charlton starting line-up despite enjoying a purple patch in front of goal.

The £4.75 summer signing from Wimbledon took a while to find his feet with The Addicks but has flourished of late netting in the last four Premiership games, taking his season's tally to nine.

A home fixture with Aston Villa on Monday could hand the 24-year-old an opportunity to make it five on the spin but the player is wary that Shaun Bartlett, Jonatan Johansson, Kevin Lisbie and himself are all vying for two striking berths.

"We have such a strong squad at Charlton you fear for your place," conceded Euell.

"I am having one of the best spells of my career but I must keep playing well to stay in."
