Trezeguet talks denied
Jorge Trezeguet also acts as his son's agent, and has dismissed recent claims that The Gunners have been in talks with agents over a transfer from Juventus, but admitted that both Real Madrid and Liverpool had been in touch about his son.
Antonio Caliendo claimed to be deep in talks with Arsene Wenger and other club officials over a big-money switch to North London for the French international striker.
Both Jorge and the Turin giants have said that they know nothing of these talks, and that both parties are happy for the 24-year-old to stay at the Stadio Delle Alpi.
"This news is a surprise. Neither me or David knew any contact with Arsenal," Jorge Trezeguet told L'Equipe.
"My son is very happy at Juventus. I don't think the club has any desire to let him leave."
The Serie A side have also moved to dismiss the claims by Caliendo by saying that he would not be involved in any discussions that took place between the two sides.
"We have a very good relationship with Arsenal and we do not need the intervention of Mr Caliendo to speak to their leaders," said Juve's general manager Luciano Moggi.
Trezeguet's sparkling form this season has led to him being linked with several moves away from Italy, and his father has confirmed that both Real Madrid and Liverpool have contacted him about possible moves for his son.
"The only clubs that recently called me for David are Liverpool and Real Madrid."
Real Madrid are always looking to build on their star-studded side, while Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier has long been linked with a swoop for the former Monaco star.
Houllier knows the player well and has made no secret of his admiration for the striker, but the massive transfer fee that has been touted around could price The Reds out of the market, with the form of Nicolas Anelka also being a factor in whether they need another striker at Anfield.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has also moved to rubbish the claims by stating that talk of Trezeguet joining Arsenal was "complete fantasy".
"Can you imagine me spending £50 million on one player? If that's all agreed then it's fantastic as my chairman must have won the lottery," said Wenger.
Ç£In fact, why don't we pay £70million as we already have five strikers."
