Royals make keeper swoop
DIVISION TWO leaders Reading have swooped to sign goalkeeper Frank Talia on a short-term contract.
The 29-year-old has penned a two-month deal to keep him at The Madejski Stadium until the end of the season.
Royals boss Alan Pardew is taking no chances as he steers his side towards promotion into Division One, and would like another experience keeper to work with Phil Whitehead and Jamie Ashdown.
Talia turned out for Sheffield United at the end of last season, and Pardew says that he can challenge for the number one jersey, and could earn a more permanent move should he impress.
"We've given him a chance to prove he is worth it and we will have a good look at him," said Pardew.
"It's a great opportunity for him to impress and it's up to him whether he breaks into the side."
