Suffo joins Numancia
Suffo was immediately transfer-listed by manager Neil Warnock, following his sending off in the controversial match between United and West Brom.
Speaking to the Blades official website, Warnock commented: ǣPatrick asked me if he could go to Spain following his problems of recent weeks and I've agreed to his request.ǥ
Numancia are currently struggling to avoid relegation from the Spanish Second Division and already have a fellow Cameroonian on their books in Daniel Ngom Kome.
The Spanish team were allowed to approach Suffo, despite missing the transfer deadline, due to a loophole in regulations that allows them to sign or loan players - providing another squad member has been injured.
Suffos' head-butt on Derek McInnes earned him a red card, and played a part in the match being abandoned after Albion had coasted into a 3-0 lead, whilst the Blades were left with just eight players left on the pitch.
The Cameroon international has struggled with indifferent form and international commitments all season, making just ten starts for United.
He was a goalscorer in Cameroons' last game however, when he scored the equaliser to make it 2-2 against Argentina in Servette, Switzerland.
Meanwhile, United's Dutch international trialist Dries Bousatta has returned to Holland in an effort to regain match fitness - but has not ruled out a return to Bramall Lane next season.
Bousatta arrived for a trial with the club last week and has trained with the first-team squad. He feels however that he cannot do himself justice without improving his fitness levels.
The 29-year-old - capped three times by the full Dutch team - had been with Dutch side AZ Alkmaar until January, when his contract was terminated by mutual consent.
His lack of fitness mainly stems from an injury problem. Warnock remarked: "Hopefully he will spend some time to get himself fit and we will gladly have another look at him next season."
