Swans make double Bury raid

SWANSEA CITY have completed a double raid on Bury with the news they have agreed deals for Paul Reid and Matt Murphy.

34-year-old Reid and Murphy, 30, have both agreed one-year deals with the Welsh side.

Swansea boss Nick Cusack (pictured) was delighted to have sealed the two deals.

" Paul is a very experienced player, who has spent the majority of his career in the First Division, and this will be the first time that he has ever played in Division Three.

"He is a very strong and determined character, who will give us that extra bite on the left hand side that we have been missing. He is very combative, and I think when the supporters see him in action, they'll take to him quickly.

On Murphy, Cusack said: "Just like Paul Reid, he's a solid and honest professional who will do a good job for us.

"He's a big lad, almost six foot, and he's a box-to-box player, who covers a lot of ground in 90 minutes. He's an attack minded midfielder, who has on occasions filled in up front for Oxford, to good effect. He's got a good goalscoring record for a midfielder, which comes from his knack of getting into the box at the right time.

" He's got bags of experience, and knows what I expect, and he's another player whose career has been in Divisions One and Two prior to this move."
