Wolves sign Ingimarsson
Ingimarsson is a versatile player who can be deployed in defence or midfield and will add depth to the Molineux squad ahead of a tilt at promotion to The Premiership.
The 24-year-old revealed that although there were other clubs interested in his services, Wolves boss Dave Jones persuaded him the Black Country was where he should continue his football education
"I'm really looking forward to playing for Wolves," Ingimarsson told the club's official website.
"I was impressed with what Dave Jones had to say to me and although I knew other clubs were interested in me I knew this was the place to be.
"It's a big club with big ambitions and I want to be a part of it.
"People say that Wolves should be in The Premier League and everyone seems determined to put that right this year."
Ingimarsson spent almost three years with Brentford, making over 100 appearances, and was a pivotal figure in The Bees' team that was beaten by Stoke in the Second Division play-off final last season.
Meanwhile, Wolves boss Jones is recovering in hospital after being admitted with pneumonia.
Jones contracted the illness after returning from holiday in the Caribbean last week and will miss the start of pre-season training at Molineux
"Dave will be in for another two or three days then need to spend the rest of the week convalescing at home," said chief executive Jez Moxey.
"Obviously the timing of this is unfortunate but it can't be helped as the doctors seem to think that Dave picked up the illness whilst travelling to or from his holiday in the Caribbean - possibly from an air conditioning unit.
"The players have reported back as arranged this morning and the other football staff and fitness coaches will take charge. The first few days of pre-season training is fitness orientated so there is no cause for concern from a football point of view, as Dave should be back soon.
"Everyone at the club wants to wish Dave a speedy recovery."
