Zlatan to stay at Ajax
AJAX'S Swedish starlet Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to stay in Amsterdam rather than join Italian giants Roma during the summer.
Ibrahimovic had been lined up for a switch to Serie A after appearing to have no future at the Amsterdam ArenA.
However, following a meeting with Roma, Ibrahimovic has decided it would be in his best interests to remain in Holland.
His agent Anders Carlsson told Fotbolldirect.com: "I have talked to Roma's sporting director (Franco) Baldini today and we have reached a full agreement that it is best for Zlatan to stay at Ajax.
"It would be stupid to join Roma after a season where Zlatan has mostly been a substitute at Ajax.
"Roma have got goal-getters like Totti, Delvecchio, Batistuta and Montella. I praised Zlatan to the sky but to compete with three Italian internationals in Italy would not be smart."
