Worthington Cup draw made

THE draw for the Worthington Cup preliminary and first rounds has been made and a number of interesting ties have been drawn.

Former winners Leicester City have been handed a tough looking tie at Third Division favourites Hull City, whilst last year's semi-finalists Sheffield Wednesday entertain Rochdale.

A number of local derbies have also come out the hat with Watford at home to Luton, Derby taking on Mansfield and Blackpool been given the task of a trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley.

The draw sees a preliminary round, because relegated Ipswich Town are entered in the Uefa Cup and so Bristol Rovers will take on Boston United for a place in the first round.

The winners of the preliminary round game will entertain Cardiff City in the first round.
