Rivaldo completes Milan move

RIVALDO has finally completed his free transfer move to Serie A giants Milan from Barcelona.

The Brazilian World Cup star, who was sensationally released from his contract by Barca manager Louis van Gaal last week after five seasons with the Catalans, has signed a three-year contract at the San Siro.

Rivaldo is reportedly set to earn around ‚é¼4.8m (£3 million) a season with the Italian giants, having previously been linked with a reunion with former Barca manager Bobby Robson and a controversial move to Real Madrid.

The World Cup winner was one of the stars of the prestigious tournament after scoring five goals in Japan and Korea.

Barcelona originally signed the South American from Deportivo La Coruna to replace Ronaldo, a player the 30-year-old star will now face in the Milan derby next season.

The form of the former Fifa World Player of the Year dipped last season, as the star struggled to overcome a knee injury, however the South American's season ended on a high note after lifting his country's fifth World Cup last month.
