Hibs sort out De La Cruz cash row

More from Football

HIBERNIAN and Ecuadorian outfit Liga Deportiva Universitaria have reached an agreement over the transfer of former star Ulises de la Cruz.

Liga Deportiva Universitaria claimed that the Easter Road outfit had failed to adhere to a sell-on clause in his contract following the player's £1.7 million move to Aston Villa.

The Ecuador side had threatened to enlist the help of Fifa to get 20 percent of the fee they are owed.

However, this now appears to have been sorted with Universitaria sports manager Patricio Torres saying: "Hibernian accepted to show us the documentation we asked them for about the transfer of Ulises de la Cruz to Aston Villa so we will not claim at FIFA because we trust that they will do what we asked them to, as that is the correct thing."
