Grim to ease Ajax goalkeeping crisis

AJAX coach Ronald Koeman has asked former goalkeeper Fred Grim to come out of retirement to ease a goalkeeping crisis at The Amsterdam ArenA.

Grim, who is now goalkeeping coach at Ajax after retiring at the end of last season, is to provide cover for Henk Timmer.

Maarten Stekelenburg has joined the goalkeeping casualty list with a muscle injury with Bogdan Lobont and Joey Didulica both already missing through injury.

Koeman would have drafted youth team keeper Robert Zwinkels into the side as a result of the injuries, but he has picked up a shoulder injury and is set to be out of action for a few weeks.

Timmer will start in the Champions League clash with Rosenborg with Grim set to act as his cover on the bench.
