Arteta happy with Glasgow life

RANGERS' Spanish ace Mikel Arteta has talked about how well he is settling into life in Glasgow.

The young Catalan, who spent the last few seasons on loan at Paris Saint Germain, moved to Ibrox in the summer from Barcelona.

Arteta revealed how well he and his family have settled in Scotland.

"The club is like a family. From the first day that I arrived they helped me," revealed Arteta.

"In addition, I have found a liking for how much they want me.

"Especially, they have made an impression with the attention they have given towards my parents and sister - she is two years older than me and she is taking advantage of the stay in Scotland to learn the English language before working in some television network, since she has studied audio-visual communication. "

Arteta says he is prepared for the cold winters north of the border.

"The climate has not been a problem for us since at the moment it is good," he said. "Although they have warned me that it will change in the winter and it will be hard, but it is not going to be a problem. "

The Spaniard also hailed the Old Firm derby against Celtic, saying: "The atmosphere was incredible, but not only in the crowd, it is very passionate on the field without stopping the players playing."

The former Barca star then spoke about the sectarian issues in Glasgow and how being a Catholic is not an issue.

"You are told not to demonstrate it and to keep it behind your clothes and not to display in public," he said.

"They respect you, but if you exhibited your religion in front of them you might provoke them and that is not correct."

Arteta also confirmed that he remains a fan of the blaugrana.

"I always hope things go well for Barca and I will follow what happens with them," he concluded.
