Stefanovic issues Vitesse quit threat

UNSETTLED Vitesse Arnhem defender Dejan Stefanovic has threatened to leave the club if they do not bring in any new players.

The former Sheffield Wednesday star is unhappy with how things are going at Vitesse and feels he has no choice but to leave if matters do not improve.

"I want to speak with my agent and the Vitesse board in the winter break about the situation at the club," said Stefanovic.

"The time has come for Vitesse to take decisions. If they won't or cannot sign new players, it's better that I leave."

The club are currently sitting in 12th spot in De Eredivisie and are in massive debt which could mean a number of players leaving the club.

"If that's so, it's better that they sell me so that they can get new players with the money that Vitesse gets for my transfer to another club," added Stefanovic.

A number of clubs including Udinese have been linked with Stefanovic in the past and they could be alerted to make a move by his comments when the transfer window re-opens in January
