Bradbury makes Owls move

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY have taken striker Lee Bradbury on a month's loan from Division One leaders Portsmouth.

Owls boss Chris Turner moved quickly to bring the former England Under-21 man to Hillsborough after Lloyd Owusu was ruled out for around six weeks following a minor operation on his left knee.

The 27-year-old had just returned to training with Pompey following his recovery from a career threatening knee ligament injury.

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp was keen to see the hit-man get some first team action and has allowed Bradbury to join the division's bottom club.

Redknapp told the Portsmouth official website: "Lee has been getting stronger all the time and some competitive football will do him the world of good.

"We look forward to him coming back having got some first team games under his belt."

Owusu joins defender Ryan Green on Wednesday's casualty list, after he was also ruled out until the New Year through injury.
