Christanval eyeing Barca exit

PHILIPPE CHRISTANVAL is hoping to move to England or return to France after failing to hold down a regular spot in Luis van Gaal's Barcelona line-up.

The 24-year-old stopper is currently out of favour in van Gaal's side, after failing to live up to the high expectations of the Catalan giants.

Christanval was particularly unhappy after being dropped from the side following an impressive display against Mallorca, and is contemplating a move away from Camp Nou.

"I would stay here, but only if I was playing," said Christanval. "However, van Gaal is always indifferent with his team selection.

"After the match against Mallorca, where we won 4-0, I was a first team member, then he left me on the bench for the next match.

"I can't understand. If a French offer arrives, then why not? It would even be very nice.

"But for the moment, I'd rather have contact with English clubs."
