Linderoth suffers new injury blow
The Swedish international has been troubled with a hamstring problem for three months and had hoped to make a return to first team action.
The new injury is not a recurrence of the old problem, and Linderoth is expected to be out of action for four weeks.
"Toby has pulled his hamstring and he will be out of action for a minimum of a month.," said Everton physio Mick Rathbone.
"It's not the hamstring he damaged at Newcastle back in November, which was his right leg, but it is obviously very disappointing for the player."
Better news on the injury front for Everton was the successful return to action of Tony Hibbert.
The 22-year-old, who has been missing since December with a hernia problem, came through the reserve team run-out without any adverse effects.
"Tony did OK in Tuesday's game. It was always the plan to give him something like three quarters of a game particularly as the pitch was heavy," added Rathbone.
