Ward released by Wolves
Midfielder Ward has been released, despite attracting interest from a host of lower division clubs vying for his signature. Ward is currently on loan at Scunthorpe.
Ward is joined on the released list by defender Kenny Coleman. The 20-year-old has spent virtually the whole season on loan at Kidderminster, where he has settled into Ian Britton's back-line.
To date, manager Dave Jones, chief executive Jez Moxey and Academy staff have decided that one player is to be offered a professional contract.
The player in question is last season's Young Player of the Year Sammy Clingan. Belfast-born Clingan has already figured in the first team and performed at Under-21 level for his country.
Manager Dave Jones sung the praises of Clingan, for whom he predicts a bright future.
"We think Sammy has got a big future," said Jones.
"You have to look at these things and think he has got the potential, and he falls into that category."
Striker Jimmi Lee Jones and midfielder Marlon Walters will also be offered a year's extension to their contracts, as Jones explained the reasons behind this decision.
Jones added: "Jimmi lee and Marlon are being offered a year's extension, which gives us a bit of extra time to take a good look at them. Again, it's a case of seeing something that you may get out of them, but it`s up to them to show me what they can do."
Meanwhile, Mark McChrystal and Chris Slater will not be offered professional contracts.
"There has to be casualties when making big decisions like this," explained Jones.
"McChrystal, Chris Slater, Kenny and Graham will be leaving us and we will help them all we can to try and find another club, if they want us to. Unfortunately, they didn't quite come up to the level that we require."
