Yakubu blow opens door for Bradbury
Nigerian striker Aiyegbeni is expected to miss the remainder of the season after injuring his hamstring in Saturday's win at Walsall.
The powerful forward was substituted midway through the first half at The Bescot Stadium and joins Vincent Pericard on the sidelines.
The absence of that duo has prompted Pompey manager Harry Redknapp to call Bradbury back to the South Coast.
"I have lost Vincent Pericard and Yakubu Aiyegbeni so I am bringing Lee back," said Redknapp.
"We have got four games in ten days and I am going to need him around."
Struggling Sheffield Wednesday wanted to keep Bradbury at Hillsborough to aid their ongoing fight for First Division survival.
The Owls face the table-toppers at Fratton Park on Saturday and Bradbury is expected to be thrown into the fray.
Bradbury is eager to make the most of his unexpected chance to impress Pompey chief Redknapp in a match which could secure the club's Premiership place.
"It is a strange one but I would rather be playing for Portsmouth against Sheffield Wednesday than the other way around," said Bradbury.
"I am hoping I can stay at Portsmouth because you want to play at the highest level you possibly can as a footballer and they are hopefully going up this season. I'd like to be a part of their squad."
