Paz denies Tenorio English move

THE president of Ecuadorian side Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito has denied that striker Carlos Tenorio is due to move to England.

Premiership sides Blackburn Rovers and Wolves have both shown an interest in the Ecuador star, but now LDU supremo Esteban Paz claims he will not be allowed to move.

Paz says that they have now decided not to allow the 24-year-old to move to Europe as he feels he lacks the experience needed for such a move.

Instead - he claims - Tenorio is now due to move to Qatar as a deal with a club there has already been agreed.

"Tenorio will continue in LDU until August and then he will travel to Qatar because he has everything arranged with a team from there," said Paz.

"We decided not to negotiate Tenorio to a European team because the player isn't mature yet.

"He has to have some experience somewhere else and then there will be time for selling him to Europe.

"On the other hand, Tenorio was interested in the offer he received from Qatar, so we decided what is the best for him.

"Then, when he comes back we will listen to the offers that will arrive from Europe."
