Bellion makes United move

MANCHESTER UNITED, as expected, have completed the signing of French striker David Bellion from Sunderland.

Bellion has signed a four-year deal at Old Trafford after seeing out his contract at the Stadium of Light.

The 20-year-old was expected to leave Sunderland after turning down a new deal last Christmas.

Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain were also keen on signing the speedy ace, but United were always at the head of the queue for his signature.

Bellion admitted he was excited at the prospect of joining United.

"I am really excited to be joining Manchester United. When you are young they are one of the clubs you dream of playing for," Bellion told the club's official website.

"I am ready to work hard and give 100 percent to United, and I'm already focused on the new season ahead."

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was happy at completing his first signing of the summer and believes he has great potential to go far in the game.

"It has been a long process to complete this deal. We did not know whether David would go abroad or come to us, and we are delighted he has chosen Manchester United," said Ferguson.

"He is a young player with great potential who will fit into the club's future plans very well."
