Santos still weighing up options

Santos has come to the end of his contract at Blundell Park but has still started pre-season training with the club.

The powerful defender says that a number of clubs are interested in him, and he will soon make a decision on his future.

"I've done the pre-season with Grimsby, so if I have to go back to Grimsby or go somewhere else, I will be ready," said Santos.

Mariners boss Paul Groves is still hopeful of signing Santos on a new deal with the Division Two side.

Groves is still hopeful of securing the services of Santos for next term, but has admitted that he the two sides are still some way off concluding a deal.

"George and ourselves are some way apart when it comes to figures," said Groves.

"He's been training with us. He knows our feelings."
