Kanchelskis joins Seagulls squad

The Ukrainian has previously been playing his football in Saudi Arabia with Al-Hilal, but is now thought to be looking for a way back into English football.

Seagulls assistant Bob Booker says that Kanchelskis is based in the south of England and was handily placed to come and train with the club.

"Andrei is based in Sussex and he wants to work on his fitness," Booker told the club website.

"We are convenient for him, and he asked us if he could come and train, so we said that was fine."

Kanchelskis has a wealth of experience after playing for Manchester United, Manchester City, Everton, Rangers, Southampton and Fiorentina in his time.

Albion boss Steve Coppell will use the time to possibly consider a move for the 34-year-old but any deal is still a long way off.
