Yakubu extends Ajax deal
Ajax have extended the contract of Ghanaian defender Abubakari Yakubu.
The 21-year-old's original deal was due to expire in 2005 but the Amsterdam club have now added a further 12 months to that to ensure the Ghanaian international stays with Ajax until the summer of 2006.
Yakubu signed his first contract at the Amsterdam ArenA in 1999 after joining from FC Ghapoha and made his first team debut in April 2000 in a 1-1 draw with Den Bosch.
He has made 58 league appearances for the club as well as playing 17 times in Europe, he also has three international caps to his name.
