Babos injury blow

NAC Breda were dealt a second blow on Wednesday with the news that keeper Gabor Babos broke his arm against Newcastle.

Ton Lokhoff's men were sent crashing out of the Uefa Cup 6-0 on aggregate, an expected result after losing 5-0 in Newcastle three weeks ago.

What was not expected, though, was Babos' injury on 36 minutes.

The Hungarian keeper plunged low for a cross and was caught by Magpies defender Titus Bramble.

After receiving lengthy treatment on the pitch, Babos was taken to hospital where X-rays confirmed the injury.

Lokhoff is likely to be without Babos for at least six weeks, handing a chance to Gino Coutinho.

A clearly unhappy Lokhoff said: "It is a real setback. I have seen the X-rays and you do not need to be a doctor to see his arm is broken.

"They have told me the recovery period for such an injury is six weeks."
