Taylor rules out striker hunt

Hull City boss Peter Taylor has played down the chances that he will sign a new striker during January's transfer window.

The Tigers manager believes the return to fitness of Danny Allsopp and Jamie Forrester will lessen the need for the former Gillingham and Leicester City boss to sign a new hit-man.

Taylor feels he has enough goalscorers to ensure promotion from Division Three this season.

"I was looking at the possibility of bringing someone in before Christmas but that was because we were a bit light up front and still a bit uncertain about when Danny and Jamie would be back," Taylor told the Hull Daily Mail.

"However, they are available for selection and when you look at the other scoring options, why would I want to bring someone else in now?

"In fact, if I went to my chairman (Adam Pearson) and asked him for the money to buy a striker, he would probably wonder what the heck I was doing.

"I'm very happy with the situation and very happy with the players we've got.

"There are enough goals in the club. The only time I would probably look at the situation again is if we got a couple of injuries.

"Touch wood, that won't happen again."
