The Real Madrid playmaker appreciates the work that is being undertaken by the Czech Republic star in Turin, after shining for the Bianconeri himself.
"I am very happy for him because he made wonderful things with Juve," Zidane stated. "And he is a good boy, according to what people said to me from Turin, where I still have contact.
"I am happy for Juve too.
"Other players could have deserved the Ballon d'Or, notably at Madrid - (David) Beckham, Raul or Ronaldo.
"Anyway, in that kind of vote, there is rarely a mistake."
Lower down the voting, Ruud van Nistelrooy came sixth with Beckham four places behind his former Manchester United team-mate.
Celtic's Henrik Larsson finished 12th while Chelsea's Adrian Mutu received a solitary point.
