Moldovan pleased to be back

By Patrick Haond
Nantes fans are pinning their League Cup quarter final hopes on Romanian forward Viorel Moldovan when they take on Le Mans.

The ex-Coventry hit-man is back in the side after an unhappy six-month spell with Al-Wahda in the United Arab Emirates.

The 31-year-old revealed his delight at being back at the French club, a place he calls home.

"I am released and very happy," he told L'Equipe.

"I feel like a footballer again. Returning to competition is something very important to me. I am starting a new life.

"It is true everyone expects me to bring something in attack, to score goals.

"I have always felt well here. At Nantes, I have returned to my roots."
