Flitcroft close to Bury move
Flitcroft had agreed personal terms on a non-contract basis earlier this week, but did not sign for the club after revealing that he was not fit for last Saturday's 0-0 draw with Kidderminster Harriers.
However, Barrow has stated that the deal is not dead and that the tenacious midfielder is still likely to sign for Bury early next week.
The 30-year-old will play for The Shakers' reserve side at Macclesfield on Wednesday and Barrow is confident that the player will take his opportunity.
''David is training with us and he is a lad I have worked with before,'' said Barrow.
''After next week's game with Southend we will have a problem with Glen Whelan going back to Manchester City.
''Once he goes it will become very limited for us on the loan system front and Flicker is free and available.
''It's something that we have to look at and we will sit down and talk about it next week.''
Flitcroft has previously plied his trade in the lower divisions for Preston, Lincoln, Chester, Rochdale and, most recently, Macclesfield Town.
