Materazzi banned for two months
The former Everton man has been disciplined for striking Siena's Bruno Cirillo in the tunnel after the final whistle.
Both the fourth official and a linesman admitted to witnessing the incident and confirmed that Cirillo had done nothing to provoke the attack.
Materazzi, who was not in the squad for the league clash because of injury, will now be suspended until March 29 while Inter have been fined é¼5,000 for allowing him to sit close to the pitch.
Club president Gacinto Facchetti has stated the player is also likely to be fined by the club for his actions that left Cirillo with a split lip. Inter will not appeal against the decision.
