Materazzi apologises to Cirillo
Internazionale's Marco Materazzi has made peace with Siena's Bruno Cirillo, admitting he was completely in the wrong for splitting the defender's lip in an off-the-field clash.
Materazzi has been hit with a huge ban for violent conduct after punching Cirillo in the aftermath of the game between the two sides - and will not be allowed to play until the end of March.
After a meeting between the two - arranged by Gazzetta dello Sport - Materazzi hopes that everyone can put the incident behind them.
"I've behaved badly," conceded Materazzi. "I reacted in a bad way.
"The fact that I will not appeal against my ban shows that I have taken responsibility for the incident."
