Gnohere makes QPR move

Queens Park Rangers have signed French defender Arthur Gnohere on a free transfer from First Division side Burnley.

The former Caen player passed a medical and put pen-to-paper on a two-and-a-half year deal with the Loftus Road club and is set to make his debut on Friday evening against struggling Peterborough United.

Gnohere had spent time on loan with The R's in the autumn and he comes in to replace long-term injury casualty Danny Shittu at the West London club.

QPR chief executive David Davies thanked the financial support of an anonymous supporter in completing the deal for Gnohere.

"The funds have been provided by a fan and without his involvement, this deal would not have taken place," Davies told the club's official website.

"I cannot stress enough how grateful everyone at the club is for this remarkable act of generosity."

Gnohere is the club's second signing of the week, with Australian midfielder Richard Johnson joining after he ended a short spell at Stoke City recently.

Though his move is a free transfer, The Clarets will receive a nominal fee should QPR earn promotion from Division Two this season.
