Henry wants end to Anelka spat

Thierry Henry has urged Nicolas Anelka and Jacques Santini to end their squabble in order to allow the Manchester City striker to return to the France squad.

Anelka and Santini have been at loggerheads ever since the former Arsenal forward had a furious row with the national coach.

Santini has insisted Anelka will remain in the wilderness until he is furnished with an apology.

Anelka has so far failed to apologise, but reports have suggested Santini is starting to mellow.

Arsenal forward Henry is disappointed Anelka is not in the squad at present, but feels a solution could be found before Euro 2004 starts.

"I know Nicolas and I know what a shame it is for his career that he is not in the national team," Henry told Uefa.com.

"I don't know what is going to happen but I hope they are going to sort it out between him and the coach. Things look quite good."
