Wise wins Foxes appeal

Dennis Wise is set to be awarded a £2 million payout after winning his appeal against wrongful dismissal by Leicester City in the summer of 2002.

The Lions player/manager, who was the Manager of the Month for February, has maintained his winning streak after winning his Foxes battle.

Wise was sacked by Leicester almost two years ago following an incident with team-mate Callum Davidson while on a pre-season tour of Finland.

After initially having his case rejected, Wise was allowed to continue fighting after winning a preliminary hearing at a Leicester court to take his case to an Employment Appeal Tribunal in May 2003.

Wise's agent Eric Hall was naturally pleased with the outcome of the appeal, but was unable to provide a statement on his client's behalf.

"Dennis is ecstatic," explained Hall. "He does not want to say anymore just yet. We just want to savour this victory."

The news comes as a blow for the Walkers Stadium outfit who have been trying to retain their Premiership place on a shoe-string budget.
