Zlatan rejects Ajax offer

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has rejected Ajax's offer to extend his contract with the club.

The Amsterdam outfit were keen to tie the young Swede to a long-term contract, but it appears that the prospect of a move to Italy has prevented them from securing their deal.

"Zlatan has had two different offers from Ajax that he has rejected," revealed agent Mino Raiola to Sportbladet.

"We are not prepared to extend beyond 2006. Whatever happens he will not stay at Ajax after that.

"By then he will have been at Ajax for five years and that is long enough."

Rumours of a move to Italy, and specifically Juventus have surfaced several times, but Raiola insists that nothing has happened - for now.

"I am not negotiating with Juventus at the moment.

"Should the opportunity to negotiate with Juve arise - I would not hesitate to do so."
