Warhurst joins Mariners

Former Premiership star Paul Warhurst has become Grimsby Town manager Nicky Law's third signing in a week.

With Grimsby struggling at the wrong end of the table, Law is intent on shuffling his pack to ensure the club maintain their Second Division status.

Warhurst was on trial at Notts County earlier in the week but the former Bolton and Sheffield Wednesday utility man has now signed for The Mariners until the end of the season on a non-contract basis.

The experienced veteran could make his debut at the weekend against Bournemouth, although Law has yet to earmark what role he has in mind for his latest acquisition.

Warhurst can operate in almost any position on the pitch but it is likely that in the latter stages of his career he will resume a more defensive role.
