Anigo plays down Mido row

Marseille coach Jose Anigo has admitted that he had a bust-up with star striker Mido on Sunday, but insisted that it was nothing more than a minor tiff.

The Egyptian star was left out of the l'OM starting line-up for the game against Strasbourg, and was not happy with the decision.

Mido apparently expressed his anger to Anigo, and was told to go home rather than take his place on the substitutes' bench.

The coach's decision was borne out by a 4-0 win, but Anigo played down the argument, insisting that the spat with the young forward was merely a flash in the pan.

"There was a bust-up," confirmed Anigo.

"It was like an argument I would have with my kids - nothing serious.

"Sometimes we forget that Mido is only 20.

"He is a good boy but sometimes he needs to be told that, despite his massive potential, the team has to come first.

"He'll come to accept that."

Mido will not face any further disciplinary action from Anigo.
