Ref Rennie in the dock
Rennie, who has previously been demoted from The Premiership earlier in his career, was slammed by Wolves boss Dave Jones for turning down two penalty appeals.
Wolves' game is now likely to be investigated and Keith Hackett, manager of the Premier League referees, admits he is prepared to drop officials for poor performances.
''I'd like to remind everyone that these are professional referees,'' said Hackett.
''I have the right to withdraw appointments and The FA have the power to suspend officials. That has happened this year.
''Where there is an area of controversy, decisions will be looked at - and that takes place quickly.''
Wolves boss Jones described Rennie as 'arrogant' and stated that he believed the official should be punished for a poor performance.
''He should be suspended but he won't be,'' declared Jones.
Meanwhile, Paul Ince has indicated that he is reluctant to spend a season in Division One, if Wolves are indeed relegated.
The veteran midfielder admits that a gruelling campaign in the Nationwide is not something he is looking forward to.
''I feel good but 50 odd games is a lot. I'll have to sit down and see what position the club is in,'' said Ince.
''If I could get away with Saturday to Saturday, then maybe. But those Tuesday and Friday nights, with cup games thrown in - it's a lot.''
