Celtic interest in Nurnberg duo
Attacking midfielder Mintal, 26-years-old, and 22-year-old striker Vittek have been in imperious form this season - both playing vital roles in the club's bid to make an immediate return to Die Bundesliga.
Mintal operates directly behind the strikers and is currently topping the Bundesliga Zwei scoring charts with 17 goals.
It has also been reported that the player has a clause in contract that could be activated should Celtic make a bid.
Vittek, who is largely regarded as Slovakia's most gifted young striker, is bound to Nurnberg until 2007 and the club have already rebuffed interest from several Bundesliga sides.
However, Nurnberg's limited financial resources may still force them to accept a lucrative offer in the region of é¼3.5 million - for both - from the Scottish giants.
Former Celtic Park favourite Lubo Moravcik, who is familiar with German football since his spell at MSV Duisburg, is reported to have alerted Martin O'Neill to his compatriots.
