Roma reluctant to sell Emerson

Roma sporting director Franco Baldini has insisted that they will not sell midfielder Emerson to Italian rivals Juventus.

The Brazilian international has enquired about the possibility of leaving Stadio Olimpico in the summer, with both Internazionale and Juventus eyeing a move for him.

Giallorossi chief Baldini has insisted that they are not looking to sell any of their players, and would be especially loathed to sell Emerson to a title rival.

"Emerson's position is well known, we have refused to open any type of negotiations for his transfer," said Baldini.

"At the moment we don't want to negotiate about any of our players.

"It is difficult for me to think about negotiating with Juventus over Emerson. It is practically impossible when you consider that they are a direct opponent in the scudetto race."

Walter Samuel has also signalled his desire to leave to join the billionaires at Chelsea in the summer and the Roman club will be trying hard to keep their squad together.
